BORAGE OIL (Borage officinalis)
Borage oil has soothing and emollient properties. Important compounds found in borage oil include Vitamin C, tannin, saponins and certain minerals that make the skin healthy and keep acne at bay. The gamma-linoleic acid found in borage oil can help to dilute sebum or oil, secreted by the sebaceous glands. In India it is respected as the ultimate anti-wrinkle cure.
HAMAMELIS VIRGINIANA (Witch Hazel) WATER
This ingredient is distilled from the bark, young twigs and leaves of the witch hazel shrub native to the Eastern United States. Properties include: astringent, antiseptic, and tonic. The tannins in the product react with proteins to produce a tightening of the tissues to which they are applied.
SUNFLOWER OIL (Helianthus annuus)
It has smoothing and moisturizing properties and is particularly good for lighter emulsions. Helps to reduce acne from excess oil and sebum clogging pores.
GRAPEFRUIT SEED OIL
Noted for its antiseptic properties and its high content of Vitamin C, grapefruit seed oil has the ability to increase circulation and tighten the skin.
LECITHIN
Found in all living things, it is hydrophilic (moisture binding), and aids in stabilizing emulsions. Great for attracting phytolipids to bind with water, therefore protectively smoothing and sealing the skin.
LEMON OIL (Citrus limon)
Cold pressed from the rind of the fruit, it is high in bioflavonoids which act as free radical scavengers. In addition, it is widely used to reduce wrinkles.
CAPRYLIC ACID
Caprylic acid is used in creams and lotions for its emollient properties. It gives the product slip and avoids having to use chemical, carcinogenic and toxic ingredients for this purpose.
GLYCINE
Glycine is an amino acid that provides texture to skin care formulas.
LEMONGRASS OIL (Cymbopogon flexuous, Cymbopogon citrates)
This oil has long been considered a healing agent in India. It is also a tonic for the skin.
VITAMIN A This ingredient helps the skin stay soft and plump by providing a moisture barrier. It contains antioxidant properties and is recognized for its exfoliating benefits to the skin. Clinical studies indicate that it increases the skins collagen, DNA, skin thickness, and elasticity. These studies showing an increase in new skin cell growth.
TOCOPHEROL (Natural Vitamin E)
This vitamin is a rich antioxidant and also has photo protectant qualities. When used as a moisturizer, it has important water binding qualities and the ability to improve the appearance of rough, dry, and damaged skin.
